I think you all have valid points. It won't do much to help small towns or exhurbs. But the 'streetcar' concept abandoned during 1950's could be huge in high density areas looking for a public/private partnership to drive investment into the area and get more folks out of autos.. The politics part sucks and we know which party would be against this. It has gone over real well in Portland..
