Tyhee Gold Corp. is the largest property holder the historic Yellowknife Gold Camp, NWT, and has the largest exploration and development program underway in the region. A Preliminary Feasibility Study delivered last summer shows their Yellowknife Gold Project is economic, and it was calculated at gold prices much lower than today’s. The property is readily accessible by winter roads and has an 1100 m airstrip.
The Yellowknife Gold Project hosts ‘measured and indicated’ resources of 1.95 million ounces of gold, of which 811,000 ounces are classified as ‘proven and probable’ reserves; work is underway to both expand their existing resource and test new gold zones discovered this past fall. As well, several of the zones are open to depth and historic deposits in the region have extended far underground.
Tyhee is completing its environmental assessment report for the project and anticipates submitting it to the Mackenzie Valley Environmental Impact Review Board in Q2 of 2011.
