Correct. No CAFE standards.

As to oil vs. solar subsidies, our country continues to have an incoherent energy policy, and it is worse today than it has been in decades. As previously stated, I have no problem with funding basic research into solar. But it is totally nonviable at this point and we should not be paying treehuggers like you to install solar panels on their rooftops.

We are sitting on 100s of trillions of feet of cheap natural gas which could ease our energy dependence in a few years time with the proper incentives. If some of the wasted billions for so called "green" energies were diverted to incentives for opening CNG filling stations, and IF Obama had shoved CNG powered vehicles down Chevy's throat (rather than this turkey, the Volt), the payoff would be hundreds of billions of dollars annually which is now being sucked out of our economy.

I don't care about oil subsidies as they're insignificant in amount on a net basis.

Obama is grossly incompetent and his nonexistent energy policy is but one evidence of it.
