No idea. Their religion is/was not important to me. Their morals WERE. They fought for principles. It doesn’t matter to me that some of them were superstitious. Religious people can desire freedom and human rights just as much as freethinkers.

Religious people don't have a rational basis for morality but as human beings their morality is not too far removed from normal people.
