Every patient has a certain # of mutant (resistant) viruses. It is imperative to EDUCATE, problems with adherance happen all the time in medicine. However, optimal education, and some training is necessary. The best patient is the informed patient, but in todays medicine, resources are scarcer every day, maybe they should have put in the guidelines that before you give a prescription to a patient, you, or your staff has to be sure the patient understands, and agrees with the treatment, and a "Dry Run" is performed. These guidelines are geared , not to us Specialists, but to all those who aretrying to deal with the unknown. What do you think would happen to a cancer patient if they ended up with an Internist who will follow the guidelines, but not refer to an Oncologist?.
Thanks,
