Evening Walt, Here's a theory that might explain your concern and it answers all of your questions.

Their could be going on what's known as "Looping" of the stock. What that is let's say that a group of investors/shorters (working) as a team buys first thing in the morning 100,000 shares. The price of course moves up by let's say a dime (as they take all bids in a hurry). Than all of the 100,000 shares are put up for sale with an additional 100,000 short shares. The flow is overturned and these guys cover up in days to come. The short position that's out there is banking on the fact that if WSP annoc. J.V. in let's say Botswana, That the market will react unfavorably to this news (thinking that Snap Lake is being abandoned). Their is also some tax time selloffs still to come and usually Nov., Dec. are weak months for Spec. Stocks.

Walt this is just an opinion and a theory....If anyone else wants to shed some light please do so.
