The trouble of using anyone else's internal experience, like all third-party accounts, is complete lack of verifiability, indeed lack of standard description/expression of that experience. One of the most powerful tools we have for knowledge is correlating the stories of others. This underlies much of the collective wisdom of e.g. farmers, sailors, soldiers. These professionals have developed a language to address common, repeating features of their livelihoods.
The absence of agreement of the experiential basis for various religions - across or within them - provides strong circumstantial evidence that there is no significant external driver for that class of experience. Jmo.
