We are hard-wired for greed, anger ... the basic monkey traits. Perhaps we can evolve beyond them. I would like that.

I suspect/hope that as our mastery of our bodies progresses, once genetic engineering becomes an actual craft, that we'll be able to direct our evolution. Conscious feedback into our natures will be awesome, and perhaps awful. In either sense, great times await. Maybe.
