Steve,
I understand your feeling and positions about Vin Dham. The more important is that you forgot one thing - the age of Vin Dham(47 years old) in software industries. I don't mean he can't do designs but I think he doesn't have a lot of potential in designs of CPUs. His mind is not so sharp like the 35 years old yuongman. Maybe he is not too old in hardware designs with his experiences. If I am right,I think most of his job involved routine jobs at the moment, not architect designs of CPUs. The other elite of AMD can handle the designing and coding jobs. I believe the top line of AMD already evaluted his potential and let him go. From the news, it is clear that AMD will not hire other people to replace him. If NSM, CYRX and IDTI wantto hire him with top pay, I don't think it will hurt AMD. I don't understand why a lot of people are so concerned about his resignation.

Best wishes

James
