Haim, I agree with your sentiments about Egypt.

But given the fact that we're providing them some $2 Billion a year in aid, as well as training and equipping their military, we already have interest at stake in promoting democratic reform there. Not saying what Obama did is going to accomplish that, but at least it provides a "Casus Belli", so to speak, for supporting a change in government.

We have nothing, legally speaking, to justify overthrowing an admittedly brutal dictator like Qadaffi.

But I think, in coming months, you'll find that US support was provided to the rebels, by way of Egypt. But indirect support via a neighboring country is one thing, unilaterally implementing a no-fly zone that WILL result in civilian deaths, is quite another.

When we go to that level, we'd better have international authority via the UNSC, as we did with overthrowing Saddam's regime.
