Thank you all for your thoughtful comments. Your views parallel mine in large part, but I wanted your more experienced/informed advice.
FWIW, the company referred to is not listed on Vancouver, nor is it one of Kerm's TOP 20, SPEC 12, SERV 7, or WISHFUL 1 :-), or any other major O&G company, so don't worry...
Nor was this company hyped at all to me...
The information provided to me in the letter in question was just a more detailed explanation of conditions, plans, timing, obstacles, etc. -- nothing earth-shaking ("we have a gusher'). Which baffles me even more why they added that so-called disclaimer.
I plan to respond to the company to advise that any information they provide to me as an investor I will treat as public information; however, I do not plan to post the letter as the details are largely irrelevant: none of the insider stuff.
