He he that's a good one.

Everyone knows Bon Jovi is one of the geniuses of Music.

I remember sitting at the bar at Sam's Hofbrau next to Tower Records on Watt Avenue in Sacramento on December 25th 1981. Day after the Xmas rush you see. The owner of Tower, Russ Solomon came in and started buying us drinks. We were all employees. I had several B&Bs. Well more than several but not too many as I had to go back to "work." Hell Russ was a billionaire why not take advantage and have as many as I could tolerate?

Russ pulled out a Weather Report CD. No one had ever seen one before. Russ says: "This is the future!"

I said "Russ, if these are digital can't you just sell them over a phone line?"

Russ: "Trust me, these are the future."

Russ was smarter about computers those days. A modem was pretty slow.

Years later I started selling CDs I'd found at garage sales on Half.com. A used CD is just as good as a new one. They don't wear out.

Ironic isn't it that (used) CDs put Russ Solomon, the former largest dealer of music in the world out of business.

Music will always survive. Artistic musicians always have a hard time. Hairdoo hacks like Bon Jovi... they make all the money.

Gotta go. I have to take some photos of some old string quartet LPs I got at a garage sale (for $1) so I can sell them on Ebay. The vinyl is mint. Collectors love the nice warm analogue sound of vinyl string quartets, and a lot of these records have never come out in digital form. If you get a good $350 cleaner and have a quality stylus even worn records can sound good since the information that might be worn at the top of the groove is usually still virgin at the bottom. Just need a smaller stylus that lies deeper in the groove that's all.
