Beverly M-off topic All dictators and despots small or big have similar logic and whip to deal with masses- if the masses are concious and prepare not to live under duress they stand up against the dictators- time and time again we have see an individual dtanding uo to a state- Lech Wlesa of Poilish 'Solidarity' one good example- the overthrow of soft 'totalitarianism' in Russia another example- Boris Yelstin climbing over the tank on the night when Gorbachev was overthrown in a coup is another example of daring acts of individuals in face of adversity- if nation makes deciet and acquiescence a habit that is when Fascist Nazis Saddams appear- we have to say no and make it known that we love each other and our colour creed religion nationality gender or race is inferior to our status as 'unique children of God'- we humans have a common destiny and all these minor walls will cave in once our apetite of human recognition flourishes- that is exactly whats happening- we are getting interconnected and these forces of fringe will disappear in darkness- for me this global turmoil of markets is the quickest phenomenon in 'global unity'- Americans who were so far insular to what happens across Atlantic now realise that ASEAN and global security is integral to their future welfare and that makes human goal of common understanding more realistic and near- when our pension funds dwindle down because of Malayasian or Thai extravagance we will tend to read and care more about world we live in- as we do that 'despots' world will shrink.Despotism breeds on hate- markets specially bull markets have lot to do with economic independence and economic independence is a function of freedom of expression- we live in an integrated society and that's what I think for me markets are about- integration and manifestation of supreme will of man- Man is a supreme talisman.
