Thank you. I know that these rods must be "temporarily stored" as the spent reactants decay to an acceptable level -- but don't you think there should be a better (probably more costly) way to store these which present less of a risk.

The last tidbit is interesting -- it's like a dirty bomb ready to be exploited by terrorists -- I remember around 9/11 that there were fears of someone bombing a nuke plant -- but breaching the containment would have been a feat -- now we know the real vulnerability.
