Toyota held up OK today, despite the national catastrophe. I bailed yesterday, anyway, pre-market, at 78.06. A 25% loss. Guess there wasn't much down left to go.

Really too bad... nobody was touching TM quality. Consumer Reports and bogus NYT headlines and stories did 'em in. US Gov't said the accelerator claims were false long after the damage had been done.

I do think the Ford Fusion is much nicer in every conventional sense than the Prius - Toyota has really gone overboard on exotic controls and shifters and make-you-feel-good engine diagrams of the battery. Prius drove well, but a bit noisy and the rear view sux. Focus Hybrid was really great test drive and the controls are very cool.

Took a Ford Fusion hybrid for a spin and loved it. Chevy Volt? I'm not into waiting for Godot; it won't hit the midwest until at least November and its first gen; I'm not that avant garde.

The Camry looks much, much worse now than it did 10 years ago; it actually looked sporty with a spoiler back in '99.

The Avalon has nav system that has gotta be 6 years old; it looks like a dinosoar on wheels.

I went to a Lexus dealer and the experience sucked. Really, really sucked. Same crappy hybrid controls; the model I test drove broke down; and the salesman put me in a non-hybrid SUV and told me it was a hybrid.

And frankly, the stock is radioactive now.

'Nuff said. Loss taken. The Sienna still rocks, and the quality is to be envied by all. Good luck Toyota. I'm worried you may now need it.
