The interesting side of the Aserbaijani/Baku story from nightline was that Koppel felt that he was breaking the story on this area of the world that only the oil people know about and that 99% of the rest of the world has no awareness. He in his own arrogance points to a concept that really surprised me that is in fact this is probably true. We all sit here waiting to rake in our millions but Hillary and Bill were just briefed last month? The tension IMHO that SADDAM is generating relates to the jockeying for the Aserbaijani pie and the anger he feels over his slipping leverage. This deal in Iran is serious and I for one don't think that he can mass troops on anyones borders again without Tomahawks raining on their heads. The guy is majorly pissed off and Baku was just advertised by Ted as the enemy. Well I'm glad that Kasakstan is on the other side of this mess, geographically, speaking. Koppel did not even mention Tengiz or Kasakstan because he wants to stir the pot with Baku. Geopoliticaltabloid journalism at its best.
