BYD: Its a difficult one to understand. Munger and Lu both have technical backgrounds - Lu studied physics in college and Munger picks physics as his favorite subject. I also had the pleasure of meeting Munger Jr who is a Stanford trained physicist. IMO, you cannot understand BYD unless you have the technical expertise to understand battery technology. Buffett himself admits he does not understand BYD. I don't pretend to understand it myself - my investment in BYD (and I believe Buffet's as well) is by proxy a bet on Lu and Munger. I will add that these two are the only investors I'm willing to coattail.
