"In 1973 the Holy Mother appeared to Sister Sasagawa in three visions in the small Japanese town of Yuzawa which is under the authority of the Diocese of Sendai. Yuzawa is an onsen (hot spring) town located in Minamiuonuma District in the mountains of the Chuetsu region of Niigata Prefecture, Japan, located 144 kilometers (90 miles) from the now destroyed city of Sendai.

Important to note about Sister Sasagawa’s visions are the many Priests and theologians who believe that the messages given to her by the Holy Mother are connected to the messages given to the three young seers at Fatima Portugal in 1917. One of the reasons being, that in 1969, while Sister Sasagawa was recovering from an illness in hospital, a Priest heard her say the Fatima Prayer at the end of each Decade. This confused the Priest for though he recognized the origins of the prayer it had not yet been released to the people in Japan. Sister Sasagawa told him that her Guardian Angel had instructed her to pray that particular prayer.

On the 56th anniversary of the Holy Mothers final message to the seers of Fatima (1973) She gave this grave warning to Sister Sasagawa:

“...if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible chastisement on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one he has never seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead.”
