Hi Leland! I am pleased to see someone reviving this thread! I am an OEX trader who has had a few whipsaws recently, but wants to start daytrading again. The Dow's move this morning toward last Spring's highs has me watching from the sidelines waiting for resistance or breakthrough. What's your opinion, or what are you watching as indicators to form an opinion?

The last trading signal I got from a broker who specializes in OEX was correct, "look for a bull move once the September 635 call gets to 9" (It was at 7 1/2 at the time the recommendation was given last week.)
I missed that move from being gunshy! Maybe we can compare notes on the recommendations her system gives with yours?

Anyway, I have had success by using put or call spreads to lower my cost and risk and will continue to concentrate on the OEX. I also watch the heaviest weighted components of the OEX (GE,IBM) to try to get an early idea about the overall direction potential. I'd like to hear more about your paper trading system if you care to share some info about it.

Let's hope other OEX traders join us here!

Gary
