I don't think you're going to buy a Volt over a Beamer or an Audi because you like the Volt's design better.

Hardly anyone would buy a Prius if it didn't have superior fuel economy.

So try again Ted. Why buy a Volt if you're not going to save money on fuel?

There will be a not-insignificant portion of the Volts sold which will be driven purely on gasoline yielding maybe 35 mpg, something that is totally achievable without one nickel of taxpayer money being spent.
