Switching gears from KM for just a moment.

I was in Atlanta for the last four days on business. I found myself with a little free time yesterday so I decided to take a CNN tour. The only tour available was a VIP tour (for any in the area or planning to be, well worth the $24.50) which takes you through the production areas, newsroom floors and sets. When we stopped by the production areas for CNN and Headline News, the guide mentioned that ALL CNN NETWORKS ARE GOING FULLY DIGITAL EARLY NEXT YEAR! No more video tape!

That cuaght my attention quicker than you could say DST. I asked the guide (wishful thinking on my part) if he knew if they were going to be using Ampex systems, but all he knew was that the change is iminent but nothing concerning the equipment. We all know Fox utilized Ampex DSTs in their new LA studios and facilities, and now I am intrigued about the upcoming CNN change. If it does incorparate DST, this could be VERY BIG for Ampex and all of us suffering share holders.

Please, anyone with connections to technical people at CNN, we'd all appreciate a little investigative work to see if DST will be used at CNN. Lets get the blood hounds out!
