Some stink will be detectable around the world, especially in Japan, but will not be seriously hazardous for human health, with the exception of heros working at the plant. These heros may die from radiation sickness. If the reactor blows, then Japan will be in trouble, but the world won't be, which is why I said the picture of winds carrying radiation is a joke. Heavy radioactive elements will fall out in the immediate vicinity of the plant site. That said, any detection of tiny elevated radioactivity due to this accident will generate public panic, and that might reach US shores - who knows. Overall even that seems very unlikely -g- This is Tokyo. So, they got extra 2 days of normal background radiation exposure, big deal -g-
