Well Jacob, I haven't gone into it as precisely as you have done, but that is certainly a possible outcome given the enthusiasm democratic countries show for Big Brotherdom and Big Brother's continuing inroads against personal liberty, property, and self-determination.

Already there has been New Zealand government led public discussion about the ethics and "who decides" of genetic selection adsa.org.nz I took part in those discussions and the tendency was very much for Big Brother to take a big part.

15 years ago I was discussing Big Brother with Lindsay Perigo an Ayn Randist Libertarian. He thought Nanny government would go from anti-smoking to anti-fat. I told him that seemed ridiculous but now I have to say he was spot on. The government is now hot on the trail and has been for years. There isn't much banned and taxed yet, but they are working on it. Dietary supplements are already banned, licensed, permitted etc. Halibut liver oil is apparently a banned substance for goodness sakes.

It would not at all be surprising for licensed parenting to be compulsory.

Judging by all other government efforts, their eugenics programmes will be a disaster. Imagine legions of perfect bureaucratic kleptocrats.
