There are other opinions about this than Irvin Jacobs.Just because he has said something on CNBC you don't have to beleive it 100%..
Irvin Jacobs mentioned that the 3.4 times has been seen in Hong Kong
Funny because that the CDMA-system is not so loaded only about 100 000 subs.So how they know that they have a 3.4 times capacityadvantage.In Hong Kong there are a number of GSM-operators with much higher subscriberfigures.SmarTone for example has about 400000.Irwin Jabobs said that there are still a few people that are not convinced about the superiority of IS-95 .I think there are more than a few.He also was asked if there where som other competing standards.He answered reluctantly that there was GSM which was "somewhat" used around the world.
