I live only a few hours from OKC.
I was born in Oklahoma. Lived for a good part of my youth around OK City. I was one those often barefoot, sometimes boot wearing, horse riding, tractor driving, dirty under the fingernails, perpetually dusty, Oklahoma farmboys who could shoot straight.
Alfred Murrah, the judge that the building McVeigh et al blew up was named after, and I lived and worked on different farms/ranches in the same one-block town (Tuttle) on the edge of OK City. My grandfather was the local blacksmith and boot-legger. he knew everybody.
Nothing fits. This is the wrong part of the country. Even now and especially then, a ME Islamic type would be completely foreign
Huh? It all fits. Lots of ME Islamic types are there now and they were there before the bombing.
I know of 4 Mosques in Oklahoma City. These are large complex structures. A 5th is on the edge of OK City in Edmond and there are many more around the state.
As for "completely foreign" - "ME Islamic types", maybe our stereotypes don't match. Mine are not the elderly, gray-haired, caucasian grandmas, that DHS and TSA search for and then search, as I recently witnessed in the Dallas (DFW) airport. |
