thanks MJ. you instinctively understand what the socialists don't. that the bigger government gets, the smaller the economy has to become.

they think government makes money. the government fabricates the currency, but they don't make money because they can't make money. money has to represent someone's effort or labor, or it's worthless. money is made with the understanding and agreement that it represents something of value. money that just gets printed only dilutes legitimate money that already exists. the socialists don't believe that money has to be made in a legitimate way. they think they government can just print it. even money printed by the US Treasury is counterfeit if it isn't made in a legitimate way.

the late milton friedman said it best, "you either believe in free markets or you don't". there is no middle ground.

i say you can 'believe' in free markets, but it's best if one doesn't need to believe. it's best if one truly understands that not only do free markets work, but it's the only thing that works. all socialism does i leach off of free market capitalism like a parasite. and like a parasite, if allowed to exist it will destroy the host.

accepting a little socialism is like accepting a little evil, and we have done it far too long..
