The Minkow story makes no logical sense. Here's what appears to have happened:

1. Marsch teams with Lennar and gets burned
2. Marsch sues Lennar and loses
3. Marsch tries to extort money from Lennar with dirt from insider whistleblower; fails
4. Marsch hires Minkow to bash Lennar
5. Minkow shorts Lennar, files formal complaints to state agencies, profits when stock plummets
6. Marsch's "representatives" offer to pay Minkow off with cash and stock for retracting his statements (wtf?)
7. Lennar sues Minkow and Marsch; Lennar wins
8. Minkow nailed for securities fraud; gains plea deal for shorter sentence to inform on "conspirator A" (whistleblower?)
9. Marsch disavows any knowledge of Minkow's short
10. Marsch's other lawsuits against Lennar are ongoing.
