ALL: A note from my mutual fund manager

I was wondering whether the managers of the mutual funds I still have money in are aware of the y2k problem. So I sent one of the managers (who lists his email) the following note: (I am not using his real name because I sent him a private message and don't think it's fair to then post his response on the net without having told him I was going to do so.)

My note:

Dear Mr. NAME:
As always, thanks for doing such a great job at the helm of the XYZ Fund. All your management skills are much appreciated! But a VERY important question . . . how aware are you of the Year 2000 computer problem and what are you doing to make sure that the companies in your (our) portfolio will be Year 2000 compliant? I I would be very interested in your thoughts on Y2K. If you want to know more, I suggest you read Yardeni's testimony to a congressional committee given recently. It's on his site at www.yardeni.com

Here's the response I got back from him. . .

Dear Ivan:

Thanks for your message. I consider myself an educated layman on the
year 2000. Most of the companies in our portfolios have established
committees to handle the issue.

Well I'm really comforted that committees have been established! I know I'M going to sleep a whole lot better! Have any of you done the same thing? If you do, I'd love to know what kind of response you're getting!
