Even though I bought an 11.6" Ultra Portable Laptop (with an 18 watt AMD E-350 processor), I'm becoming convinced that the form factor for the small laptop is going to be the Convertible Tablet.

Now the Convertible Tablet looks like a Laptop but the screen will rotate 180 degrees and then fold-flat but face-up. I see them with Intel Atom processors but also see them with the new 17 Watt to 18 Watt Laptop processors.

I shied away from the Atom processors but I suspect that the dual-core Atom will run Photoshop Elements well enough to do basic JPEG editing.

Now in the Convertible Tablet look carefully for both WiFi and plug-in Ethernet connection because with the Ethernet the computer can be used in a hotel room. And I see several Atom models from ASUS with ethernet, one Atom model from Dell possibly without ethernet, one Atom model from HP, and one model from HP with a more advanced Intel 17 Watt or 18 Watt processor. Of course the model selection can change quickly so shop carefully.

The weight of the Convertible Tablet can come in at about 2.8 pounds or more so it does weigh more than a simple Tablet but as said before it can plug into a hotel room ethernet or run WiFi or connect to a mobile phone and run W'ndows applications.
