Actually, someone on SI many moons ago did some work on the premium and concluded that for short to mid term traders, the time to BUY CEF was when the premium was low and the time to SELL was when the premium got high. Seems somewhat logical and easy but we all know the emotions carry into the equation. If memory serves, the poster said buy CEF when the premiums are near 3% and sell near 12%.
