your knowledge of economics is sorely lacking....having GM and the big banks go under would have had a devastating effect on unemployment as all these industries are interconnected.

The flaw in your logic is two-fold. First, you are assuming that GM and the larger banks would have failed. Second, you are assuming that in the wake of such failures new corporations with superior business models and healthy balance sheets, would not have emerged to fill the void left by GM and the failed banks.

Assuming the failures occurred, resulting in the elimination of GM and several large banks from the playing field, the need for automobiles and banks would have remained. Consequently, new corporations would have emerged to meet those needs.

Capitalism excels at purging failures, mitigating inefficiencies, rewarding superior business models, and enabling corporations that have healthy financial plans and balance sheets.

In contrast, fascism excels at protecting the status quo, rewarding failed executives, and preventing the emergence of newer corporations with superior business models and healthy balance sheets.

I guess the Holocaust was a myth too.

Why would you interject an asinine non sequitur into the conversation?
