First stage completed. Remove Old Jacobs who was more interested to fight than contemplate survival strategy.

Second stage: Diversify. Diversify to have a menu of technologies. See the buying of many companies in recent years. This is the preparation for the shakeout that will soon happen.

What is the shake out. As we know we are living through the Great Unwinding. And affects every single sector. Large US operators -who are key to introduction of Smartphone technologies- are no exception.

As the telecom vendors bulk up and merge, so will operators. See:
What happens if AT&T, T-Mobile merge?

Third stage: Starting now and it is not in the press. You read here from the thread where things that hit the press in one year, are discussed.

Competitors to the Chinese start to counterattack. And they use the same weapon the Chinese hit them. PRICE.

They decided to compete with the Chinese on price. And competition chnges to price, everyone gets squeezed. That is what will percolate down to QCOM nd will led to their demise.
