Until "moderate" muslims lead a true reformation of islam, rejecting all parts of the religion that justify violence of any sort against innocent people, islam will remain a gutter religion populated by the most primitive humans on the planet. Reformation will probably require a "walling off" of the violent Taliban/jihadists to several countries in the middle east and Asia with a necessary cessation of all trade with them. They must be financially strangled and allowed to live their reprehensible lives on their own terms in their own lands.

The civilized countries of the world will have to reject the travel of individuals from walled-off countries into civilized countries. For any "uncivilized" individuals who for some reason do travel into a civilized country, their travel must be tracked.

The U.S. will have to find a way to crush all vestiges of islamic radicals. Due to the Constitutional imperative that the U.S. government not respect the establishment (recognition) of religion, radical islamism would likely be identified as organized crime and dealt with in the same manner as the Mafia.

If the above sounds radical, it's just a logical progression of what I see developing over a long period of time. It took 13 decades for the Protestant Reformation to conclude so it looks like it will be war between islam and the rest of us (I am an atheist) for more than the rest of our lives.
