I tend to agree with you. Very big companies can last long enough to eventually see the light and get themselves out of the mess they are in. Keep in mind that IBM stock spent nearly 10 years in a pit so deep, it never saw the light of the day.

I am not predicting Intel's demise. At worst, they cough up a boat load of money to buy out somebody who has made it where they failed (ok, this is not the worst; it is "bad" likely outcome as opposed to a "good" likely outcome of making it on their own).

BTW, IBM has been a core holding of mine for the past few years...not as long as yours, but I've been happy enough.
