I agree. My point was that Ish was a good investor, and did not make poor decisions as your post suggested, probably as sarcasm.

It probably costs the government more to process his subsidy than it is worth to him. It's the same complaint I have about government programs and all businesses that spend $25 processing the recover $5. And I even do this myself.

I recently got two checks for about $12 as part of a class action suit from a mutual fund that I formerly had an IRA in. The checks were written to The Fund and me, so my bank would not cash them. I still haven't got the money, and the company processing the class action suit says the checks have expired. I won't get it, but it's now a matter of principle with me. I told them I would contact the SEC, and I will do that. On MY schedule.

By the way, I am NOT a rich man.
