Oil holds above $124 after Libyan strikes

Reading that I immediately wondered could this be part of a plan. Surely not ..... but Obama and his people did promise to raise energy costs in general, including electricity and gasoline and everything the administration has done seems designed to fulfill those promises.

If Obama WANTED to drive up world and US energy prices, this intervention and the WAY he's intervened are perfect ....

don't leave things alone and let Gadaffi crush the rebellion and keep the oil flowing and also don't do enough to make Gadaffi fall .... just keep a stalemate going indefinately in which each side will keep fighting as they can and the oil facilities will in time inevitably be targeted .... and once destroyed, it will take a lot of time to get Libya back to its pre-war production levels.

Do the Obama people (they're SO SMART, right?) not realize this is gonna bite them in the ass come 2012? High prices are going to hurt the jobless recovery, maybe create a new downturn ..... Can they be this dumb?

They've got Bambi out campaigning and being openly callous to the effect of high gasoline prices .... I guess they can be that dumb.
