One would kind of expect a Rupert Murdoch publication to be against the middle class. I say, let's do one of two things. Let's go back to the last time a Republican President had a balanced budget and use those tax rates. Eisenhower was gouging the wealthy at a marginal rate in the 70s. Or, let's go back to the last time anyone balanced a budget. Clinton was taking a 39% cut.

BTW, why doesn't the GOP point to all the jobs and prosperity caused by the Dubya's tax cuts as a reminder to all how important this is? <VBG> Tax breaks have never balanced a budget. Tax increases have many, many times. And, in many of those times, the nation prospered greatly.

The GOP is selling an old idea that has never worked.
