I don't think this conclusion is accurate. Lots of American expatriates have kids born overseas, and I think those kids are "natural born citizens". We went through this in the campaign with John McCain, who was born to American citizens in the Panama Canal zone. By the letter of the law, a baby born in Kenya to an 18 year old American mother and a Kenyan father would not get automatic American citizenship.
