If one wonders why I was so po'ed, mad and sad last night, my brother told me a couple of little things what makes it such a hassle for small ag operations..

Take farm diesel vs. road diesel.. I knew one couldn't use it to run around with on public roads as the there is slight cost reduction due to no or less road taxes on it.. He said it wasn't a helluva lot.. Btw if one gets caught using farm diesel in their personal rig on public roads, a hefty fine.. It's colored so the cops can check it out, by dipping into the fuel tank..

So with that in mind, he told me in the state of Washington, the powers that run things are even raising Hell with some poor slob driving some piece of farm equipment running with off road diesel a quarter of a mile on the edge of a public road to get to an adjoining field.. If they couldn't use the pub road, maybe they couldn't even get to that field.. So what do you do?

Then he told me, he couldn't even get a simple soil test by the local extension agent done.. He said whenever he's been to their office, nobody is there except for the one or two guys that "work" there sitting on their @sses,,
