A significant number of people, for whatever reason, doubt he was US born. Trump correctly makes the point that, at the time, his family might well have wanted to have him classified as American born for any number of reasons, as there were undoubtedly benefits to being an American born person.

There is simply no reason for him not to put this to rest.

When Teddy Roosevelt attended Harvard, there was no question as to how this happened. IMO, there is evidence that unsavory individuals paid for his education. If this is true, the American people ought to at least have the information.

The man wasn't adequately vetted for the job.
