Oh I know it is a trivial matter but stacked on top of so many NOT so trivial matters, like high fuel prices, high fertilizer prices, high prices for supplies like bailer twine, barb wire, parts for the equipment, and on top of that, growing old <g,ng> etc. it just got to him and he didn't want to fight it any more.. Even labor, no cheap labor around there..Btw, he is keeping MOST of the land and may even get some poor bastard to make the hay on some of it.. Lease some out to a potato grower.. Probably make enough to pay the taxes on the place if he is lucky.. <g,ng>
Btw, the extension agents used to come around on their own,to see if they could help, offer advice, etc... Also just take the soil sample and send it to WSU or someplace for testing..
