Aphids. One really dry year the bean fields were full of aphids and the predator Japanese beetles multiplied like crazy. Early harvest and the little biters MOVED TO TOWN. Millions of them everywhere. I was in the grocery parking lot when a woman had one go down her blouse. She pealed her blouse off right in the lot.

They got into houses in numbers that made a shop vac a handy thing.
