The Atlanta newspaper reported today that AmSouth Bancorporation is a rumored takeover target. The source was Mergerstat of Los Angeles. Also mentioned CCB Financial out of Durham, NC as a possible takeover target. The AmSouth rumours in the Atlanta banking community have long included Nations as the acquirer. I guess we'll find out sooner than later. Martin Fahsel
