i would prefer to pay $400,000 than a million. i might be tempted to pay a million for a stupendous place that had been 2 1/2 million. i would retire. i needn't be in miami for business.
i took a drive - but didn't get to see many units. brokers were very negative re foreclosures and short sales.
i was surprised to see i could get a 2 BR 2 bath on ocean in miami beach from 40's to 80's - streets - for that - (is there something wrong with this area? - i don't like the valet parking) but saw in south beach and below i could pay much more. on the water a few blocks west and up a few blocks - are largely unoccupied new buildings.
also, brickell key i could find units for $400,000. i saw sunny isles i could pay $600,000, hollywood $350,000 - and $150,000 on ocean side of intracoastal for an older building with intracoastal view.
trump has his name on buildings in sunny isles and hollywood.
i saw south part of palm beach i could pay $400,000. is there something wrong with them? i can happily save half for being a bit south of worth.
vero beach - $400,000
i passed strings of high rises on hutchinson island - i think they are $300,000.
i didn't get to look at any in boca, boynton, delray. but, i am interested in checking this area out.
i saw very nice places in naples and sarasota for $700,000.
i haven's seen these places and don't know what living there would be like.
my son wanted to go to south beach - so we drove past places on both florida coasts and didn't see many places - no appointments - son was bored with brokers - and brokers represent sellers - and didn't have super deals for me. i liked miami - south beach - but, would i want to live there. some restaurants are a fortune. i hear re hassles, crime. and i am a bit old for the scene. but, i like the beach and having a walkway just west of the sand, too. |
