This speech today was terrible in that respect; aside from being untrue in significant part, it just comes across as mean spirited. I don't think it has worked that well so far (based on his disapproval ratings) so I don't know why they keep it up. I'm particularly tired of the lies about Medicare Part D. True, it wasn't paid for, but the program has been highly successful and ended up spending a HELL of a lot less than what the D's were pushing for. It is liberal hypocrisy at its worst, yet then NEVER get called on it. Krauthammer characterized the speech as "disgraceful" and I have to agree with him about it.
