Thanks for your remarks; they are all valid points.

However, in making an investment decision, one needs to have a working hypothesis incorporating roughly the probabilities of each possible scenarios, and my S/T decision was made not giving heavy weighings to those factors based upon my understanding of the historical context. This was a serious decision on my part as I have some business pursuits in Japan.

My two cents only and not looking for cohorts. :-)

PS: I suspect the markets today surprised a lot of shorts and those who thought they could do the timing. Too bad.
