Hillenbrand Industries, Inc. (NYSE:HB), headquartered in Batesville, Indiana, USA, is a public holding company for four wholly owned operating companies with leadership positions in the markets they serve. The four subsidiaries are organized into HEALTH CARE and FUNERAL SERVICE GROUPS. Batesville (1997 population 4,600), is located in southeastern Indiana between Cincinnati, Oh., and Indianapolis, Ind. Three of the Hillenbrand subsidiaries: Hill-Rom, Batesville Casket and Forethought Financial Services, are also headquartered in Batesville. The other one, Medeco Security Locks, is headquartered in Salem, Va. Hillenbrand Industries employs 10,000 people worldwide and 3,700 in Indiana.
