Rolling out an ITM covered call position is an integral part of the strategy for me. I roll out multiple ITM calls almost every Op-Ex Friday. It lets me keep the underlying stock, and usually generates more monthly income, sometimes a loss, but avoids an undesirable capital gain on assignment.
