.I don't think that the stress of the job in big cities like Boston, NY, Chicago, LA, etc is a myth. I think it is definitely overblown in more rural areas with smaller less busy airports.......

My buddy's wife has to contend with two scheduled flights a day from Seattle, general aviation traffic and the occasional military plane that uses the airport for touch and go practice. I doubt she's too terribly stressed on the job.
