Agree with a lot of what you say. Regan wiped out all the depreciation deals, too, that knocked down the tax rates for the highest earners. With all the oil well and apartment house deals, high earners paid less before the Regan tax reforms.

Also, have an older friend with a young wife and two young kids. don't understand it, but he's getting 40K a year from his SS and benefits for the kids, cause he's old.

Brags to me about it. Also, of course, he's a total lefty. Only a high earning one who knows how to game the system.
